The Lucca summer music festival is an annual event that sees many of the worlds top recording artists performing in the intimate surrounding of Piazza Napoleone in the middle of this historic walled city. Over the last couple of years artists such as Eric Clapton, Simply Red, Santana, Roger Walters etc have performed at the festival. This annual celebration of the work of Puccini is held in the newly built outdoor theater on the shores of Massaciuccoli Lake, close to Viareggio.

The Pistoia Blues festival every June attracts some of the biggest names from the world of Blues, Rock and Jazz. Artists appearing over the last couple of years have included : Robert Plant, Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis.

The Pescia Palio is a medieval festival that usually occurs in the first week of September. There are parades and demonstrations of medieval arts including archery, cooking and flag tossing displays, and town is filled with people in Medieval dress.

The festival has events happening over the whole week, dates are normally announced around June.
